About the position The Systems Engineering role is a critical position that integrates both business and technical needs to deliver high-quality products that meet user requirements. This position involves a comprehensive approach to the design, creation, and optimization of systems, ensuring that all activities align with the overarching goals of service, quality, and timeliness. The role requires a robust understanding of system requirements, the ability to create alternative design concepts, and the execution of design trade studies to select and implement the best designs. Furthermore, it is essential to verify that the designs are properly integrated and executed throughout the process from concept to production to operation. In this role, the individual will lead component, module, and system-level design activities, managing product and systems requirements, specifications, and flowdown. The position also involves driving validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system-level testing. The successful candidate will manage the interface between design, systems, and execution organizations, establishing product requirements and defining the components and subsystems that comprise the overall architecture. A forward-looking strategy for platform and technology development is crucial to maintain competitiveness in the market. The role demands a high level of operational judgment and the ability to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks in areas such as operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering. The individual will serve as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Strong communication skills are essential for explaining complex information and building consensus among team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Leads component, module, and system level design activities.

  • Manages product and systems requirements, specifications, and flowdown.

  • Defines and provides scope management.

  • Develops specialized knowledge in their discipline and serves as a best practice/quality resource.

  • Contributes towards strategy and policy development, ensuring delivery within area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.

,

  • Minimum of 6 years of mechanical design or systems integration experience.

,

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Aerospace or equivalent industry.

,

  • Minimum of 6 years of turbomachinery high pressure module design experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college.

  • Exposure to aviation engine design or certification requirements.

  • 10 years of experience in design/development of turbomachinery.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
