About the position As a Senior Data Analyst within the Cyber Defense & Engineering team at TikTok U.S. Data Security (USDS), you will play a crucial role in enhancing security tools and identifying vulnerabilities to protect U.S. user data. This position is integral to our mission of fortifying TikTok as the most trusted platform for millions of users. You will collaborate cross-functionally with various teams, both technical and non-technical, to track and develop initiatives aimed at crafting innovative solutions to complex technical challenges. Your work will directly contribute to the oversight and protection of the TikTok platform, ensuring that users can safely engage with our services. In this role, you will lead the data analysis function from end-to-end, which includes gathering requirements, conducting detailed data analysis, identifying data sources, creating schema diagrams, and calculating metrics. You will also be responsible for data processing and quality validation to ensure that the insights derived from data are accurate and actionable. Building data pipelines, optimizing ETL processes, and ensuring data integrity will be key components of your responsibilities. You will work in ambiguous situations to design the best methodologies for data extraction and generate insights that support decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, with proven problem-solving abilities and sound business acumen. You should be passionate about safeguarding user security and privacy, and possess the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams. Responsibilities

  • Leading the data analysis function end-to-end, from requirements gathering to report/dashboard delivery.

  • Conducting detailed data analysis, identifying data sources, and creating schema diagrams and metrics calculations.

  • Ensuring data quality validation and processing to drive the best possible data insights.

  • Building data pipelines and optimizing ETL processes to ensure data integrity and efficiency.

  • Partnering with a wide range of stakeholders within Technology and cross-functional teams.

  • Generating actionable insights from data to support partners in decision-making.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of proven experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or Data Engineer.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or Computer Science.

  • Strong proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R).

,

  • Excellent SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.

,

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

,

  • Technical skills to automate data pipelines for building dashboards.

,

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Great communication and presentation skills.

  • Proactive, self-driven, and impact-driven mindset.

  • Experience in cyber security is preferred.
