Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Remote Opportunity

Join the Apple Team and Power the Future of Entertainment! We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Media Platforms SRE team. As a remote role, you'll have the flexibility to work from anywhere and contribute to the success of our team. With a competitive salary range of $175,800 to $312,200, you'll have the opportunity to earn a reliable and steady income while working on exciting projects that combine art and technology.

The Media Platforms SRE team is responsible for designing, building, and running a diverse set of services that ingest, transform, and manage all media content across products like the App Store, Apple Music, Apple Fitness+, and Apple TV+. You'll interact with a diverse range of system types, including public-facing web and API developer services, pipeline-based transformation systems, internal business systems, and machine learning models. Our team believes in close partnership with development teams and aims to design and build new services together.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and run highly available, fast, and efficient systems that power Apple's media content
• Collaborate with development teams to design and build new services
• Develop and maintain software and automation tools to support our services
• Work with state-of-the-art observability tools and monitoring platforms
• Transition our bare metal fleet to new Kubernetes microservices

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent field with 6+ years of experience or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent field with 4+ years of experience
• At least 6 years of experience in a Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused role
• Advanced experience with programming languages (Golang, Python, Java, C++)
• Deep systems and infrastructure knowledge
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Passion for designing and building reliable systems
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and container orchestration with Kubernetes
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results on time with high quality
• Automation advocate with experience in removing operational load with software
• Experience with deploying, supporting, and monitoring new and existing services, platforms, and application stacks
