We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-time English Tutor to join our team at Great Basin College in Pahrump, NV. As a Part-time English Tutor, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the academic success of our students by providing individualized support and guidance in English language skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general tutoring of class material to students, including discussing text, working solutions to problems, and reviewing worksheets or class materials
• Offer feedback and positive reinforcement to students to help them achieve their academic goals
• Assist students with computer usage and other technology-related tasks as needed
• Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

• Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings and possibly Fridays, between the hours of 10am-8pm, Monday through Thursday
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding when working with students who may be struggling with English language skills
• Reliable transportation to and from the Pahrump location
