Join Our Team as an Accountant II - School Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant II to join our team as a School Support Specialist. As a key member of our accounting team, you will provide on-site and phone/email support to school-based staff responsible for processing and overseeing school activity funds and school operating budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily, monthly, and year-end accounting support to the entire school system
• Review, reconcile, and analyze reports, and prepare annual consolidated financial statements
• Monitor compliance with established policies and procedures, and develop training materials and conduct training sessions
• Assist with the design and development of automated systems for accounting-related functions
• Collaborate with principals, school-based secretaries, fiscal assistants, and other account managers to resolve accounting issues

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience, with governmental and/or accounting experience preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), GFOA Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO), or other relevant certifications preferred
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting business practices
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
