We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Part-Time Legal Secretary to join our team at the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI). As a key member of our Commissioner's Office, you will provide administrative support to our Administrative Law Judges and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our legal processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule hearings and prehearing conferences, and prepare and serve documents as part of the contested case process
  • Support Administrative Law Judges in facilitating settlement agreements, consent orders, and issuing final orders
  • Answer and route phone calls, and respond to basic inquiries from the public
  • Type, proofread, and correct draft documents, and review documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Establish and maintain a calendaring/docketing system to track deadlines and hearings

  • Competitive salary range: $3,856 - $5,325 per month (prorated for part-time position)
  • Permanent, part-time employment with a schedule of 20 hours per week

Requirements:

  • 2 years of clerical/secretarial experience, including at least 1 year as a legal assistant or secretary for an attorney or judge
  • Proficiency in word processing software and Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
