About American Express Ventures: As the corporate venture capital arm of American Express, we're passionate about early-stage investments in FinTech, commerce, and enterprise software. With a global directive, we play a key role in investing in groundbreaking startups and helping them commercialize partnerships with American Express business units. Our team has backed over 100 category-defining founders, including notable investments like Biocatch, Blackbird Labs, Firework, Melio, Menlo Security, Plaid, Stripe, Toast, and Wonder.

Responsibilities

• Participate in deal pipeline activities, including sourcing, evaluating, transacting, and handling investments
• Support research and creation of investment thesis
• Proactively identify potential investments, meet with, and qualify startups
• Assist in management and reporting on the active pipeline
• Evaluate potential target companies and cases from strategic, operational, and financial valuation
• Adhoc projects and results as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of previous experience in fields requiring in-depth financial analysis, deal execution, strategy, and/or business development
• Currently enrolled in a full-time Graduate level degree program
• Students must have a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 2-4 years of previous experience in fields requiring in-depth financial analysis, deal execution, strategy, and/or business development
• Track record of being self-reliant and operating in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment
• Strategic skills, with the ability to identify and assess key points, implications, and recommendations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong financial, analytical, and valuation skills
• Curiosity about the startup ecosystem and passion for American Express and desire to drive innovation through startup investing
