About the Role

Delta Air Lines connects the world by flying 180 million customers to 300+ destinations. The Data Science team within the Operations Data Science (ODS) division uses data science and predictive modeling to optimize our complex operations. We are seeking a motivated recent graduate to contribute to the development of knowledge-based systems, AI models, and algorithms that enhance airline performance and customer experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience and make a tangible difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior data scientists to develop advanced analytical solutions for complex business challenges.
  • Gather data using SQL queries and perform exploratory data analysis.
  • Present analytical findings to stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or Computer Science (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with relational databases (SQL).
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques (Python, SciKit Learn, R, SAS, or other platforms).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse teams and perspectives.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US.
