Overview: Duration: July - Early September (10 weeks) Hours: 25 hours/week Join AHIMA's Human Resources team for a dynamic 10 week summer internship where you'll gain hands-on experience in core HR functions, policy development, and talent operations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that support organizational effectiveness and employee engagement, while building foundational skills for a career in HR. Key Responsibilities:

  • Job Description AuditMarket Review: Assist in reviewing and organizing current job descriptions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with market benchmarks for grade-level determination.
  • Policy InventoryAnalysis: Conduct a comprehensive inventory of HR policies beyond the Employee Handbook. Identify outdated or missing policies and support updates or development of new ones.
  • HR Intranet Content Refresh: Help update and enhance HR-related content on the internal intranet platform to improve accessibility and employee engagement with HR resources.
  • Policy ResearchDevelopment: Research HR best practices to support the creation of new policies (e.g., salary administration, severance) for leadership review.
  • ComplianceDocumentation: Ensure all employees have completed legally required documentation (e.g., Handbook acknowledgments) and assist in tracking and follow-up.
  • Recruitment Support: Assist with recruitment coordination, including posting roles, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and supporting candidate communications.
  • Special Projects: Contribute to additional HR initiatives and projects as assigned, based on organizational needs and intern interests.

  • Recruitment operations and candidate experience.
  • Legal and regulatory aspects of HR.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word).
  • Comfortable working in a virtual team environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
