About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Enterprise Data and Analytics team. As a key member of this cross-functional team, you'll play a crucial role in driving JumpCloud's core reporting capabilities by developing data pipelines, curating and modeling data, and designing databases to enable insights and self-service across the organization.

You'll collaborate with analytics teams, technical teams, and business stakeholders to develop and maintain data pipelines, curated data models, and database designs that support business and analytics insights. Your expertise will help us make data-driven decisions, drive growth, and improve our overall business operations.

Responsibilities:

• Drive large-scale projects involving data pipelines, database design, data modeling, and data curation to optimize analytics and business use cases.
• Own the outcomes of analytics initiatives, ensuring successful project delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Gather requirements and provide actionable recommendations to technical stakeholders, driving adoption and execution of recommendations.
• Mentor and grow other analysts and engineers across the organization, helping them achieve their full potential.
• Support team project management, strategic decision-making, and long-term planning.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering, database design, data modeling, and data governance.

Requirements:

• Advanced knowledge and experience in SQL and relational databases (Snowflake experience highly preferred).
• Advanced knowledge in database design, data modeling, data infrastructure, data pipelines, and ELT processes.
• Proficiency in coding and markup languages, with the ability to create complex queries from multiple data sources.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python (numpy, pandas).
• Intermediate analytical skills and a passion for data storytelling and quantitative analysis.
• Understanding of business intelligence and data visualization tools (Tableau experience highly preferred).
• Strong mentoring, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Effective project management and organizational skills, with experience working in Agile environments.
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.
