Lead Engineer - CKB

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer for the Blue Yonder Category Management suite (Space/Flooring Planning, CKB, Data Manager) who drives the execution of multiple technology solutions, business plans, and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans. Solves the most complex tasks across system/business functions. Influence across the organization and across the Enterprise.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads and directs in large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing projectrequirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; directing and reviewing designartifacts (for example, proof of concepts, prototypes); writing and developing code; overseeingsoftware design; reviewing unit test cases; communicating status and issues to team members andstakeholders; directing project team and cross-functional teams; enhancing design to prevent re-occurrences of defects; ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs; interacting with the project managerto provide input on project plan; and providing leadership to the project team.
  • Conducts software and hardware requirements reviews, preliminary and critical design reviews, and software acceptance reviews.
  • Ensures objectives are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, andinitiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting,evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Leads the work of cross-functional groups to deliver assigned Engineering projects by providingpertinent documents, direction, and examples; identifying short and long-term solutions andtimelines; reviewing and approving proposed solutions; implementing new architectural patterns;and performing design and code reviews of changes.
  • Leads the discovery phase of large projects to develop high-level design by partnering with theProduct Management, Project Management, Business, and User Experience teams; obtaining cross-function approvals; driving proof-of-concept; and implementing prototypes to validate ideas.
  • Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues by reviewing and analyzinginformation (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); directing actions asdesignated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; directing root causeanalysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and reviewing and approving online documentation.
  • Supports business objectives by collaborating with business partners to identify opportunities and driveresolution; partnering with businesses to define priorities; identifying short- and long-term solutions; and leadingcross-functional partnerships.
  • Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or similar.
  • 8+ years of experience with Blue Yonder Category Management solutions (Space/Floor Planning, CKB, Data Manager).
  • Ability to effectively speak to C-level/senior management.
  • Superior understanding of agile development processes and able to use agile practices to drive the team to meet organizational objectives.
  • Able to effectively and concisely express & defend complex written & verbal thoughts to a wide audience range.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
