Job Summary

The Life Course Outcomes (LCO) and Policy, Analytics, and Community (PAC) Research Programs, within the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute, are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow to support a five-year NIH-funded community-based participatory research (CBPR) study on the development of loneliness among autistic young adults during life transitions. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with the principal investigator, co-investigators, community partners, and research staff to support all phases of the project including study design, data collection, data analysis, community engagement, dissemination, and manuscript preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in autism research, quantitative (including longitudinal and/or multivariate methods) and/or qualitative methods, and a commitment to community-engaged research. This position will provide an opportunity to gain experience in large-scale primary data collection, community-engaged research, and advanced longitudinal and mixed-method analyses. The fellow will be a key member of an interdisciplinary team and will be encouraged to lead papers and presentations, with ample opportunity for professional development and mentorship.

Essential Functions

  • Support the planning of all aspects of the research project.
  • Contribute to the longitudinal data collection and management by overseeing survey administration, tracking participant engagement, and supporting fidelity to data collection procedures.
  • Assist with qualitative data collection and analysis by assisting with purposive sampling, preparing materials for interviews, and conducting and analyzing interviews in collaboration with the qualitative research team.
  • Lead and support data analysis by conducting and interpreting advanced statistical analyses, including latent growth mixture modeling, and contribute to the integration of quantitative and qualitative findings.
  • Assist with community engagement and coordination by supporting inclusive engagement strategies and working closely with community partners to develop accessible dissemination products.
  • Lead manuscript development and conference presentations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate.
  • Minimum of 5 years years of experience.
  • Experience in autism research and community-based research
  • Strong foundation in quantitative methods (longitudinal and/or multivariate) or mixed-methods
  • Knowledge in quantitative data collection, analysis, and interpretation
  • Large-scale, longitudinal human subjects data collection
  • Ability to communicate effectively and accessibly with different populations
  • Experiences of scientific publications and reports
  • Ability to effectively prepare and present information on study findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Interdisciplinary teamwork

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mixed-method research, working with the community on collaborative research efforts, large-scale data collection, longitudinal and/or multivariate quantitative analysis, experience conducting research with the autism population, completing and submitting grants.
  • Familiarity with community-based participatory research, advanced statistical techniques, and the ability to develop materials in plain language

Additional Information This position is classified as Exempt, grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from $54,630. to $$ 81,940. per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
