About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Live Chat Specialist - Collections to join our team. As a key member of our collections team, you'll be responsible for responding to borrowers via different digital communication channels with delinquent accounts, collecting past due payments, and providing appropriate payment solutions to cure borrower's delinquency. This role requires a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

* Communicate with delinquent borrowers via different digital communication channels, including live chat, email, and phone

  • Find solutions to help bring borrower's loans to a current status, including negotiating payment plans and providing financial counseling
  • Process payments for borrowers with past due payments, ensuring accurate and timely recording of payments
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly collection and metric goals, providing regular updates to management
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including customer service and credit, to resolve complex customer issues

Essential Qualifications

* 1-2 years of direct experience in credit and collections, with a strong understanding of sales, negotiation, and persuasion tools

  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and concise messages that resolve customer issues
  • Prior experience with financial products, including credit cards, loans, and mortgages
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Self-motivated and extremely goal-oriented, with a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional demeanor, with excellent customer service skills and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers in both languages

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with live chat software, including Zendesk and Freshdesk

  • Knowledge of financial regulations, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
  • Certification in credit and collections, including the Certified Credit and Collections Professional (CCCP) designation
  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with a strong ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers

* Competitive hourly rate of $16-18 per hour, with a bonus opportunity
