About the Data Engineering Team

The Data Engineering team at blithequark is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the data pipelines that support our business operations. We work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our data pipelines are scalable, reliable, and efficient. As a Data Engineer on our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from developing new data pipelines to improving existing ones.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with experience in ELT/ETL information pipeline improvement and support. The ideal candidate will be proficient in cloud-based data pipeline development, with experience in Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies. They will also have a strong understanding of data set design and capability, as well as experience working with large datasets and big data technologies.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain data pipelines using ELT/ETL technologies

  • Design and implement data set blueprint/tables/views
  • Create and deliver datasets as input to science models and visualizations
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure data pipelines are scalable, reliable, and efficient
  • Develop and maintain automated work schedulers
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data pipelines meet their needs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues

Essential Qualifications

* Four-year college degree in Software Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field

  • 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL information pipeline improvement and support
  • Proficient in Python and SQL (ideally with Snowflake)
  • Experience with creating in a multi-environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and DEVOPS strategies for code organization/development
  • Experience creating and maintaining automated work schedulers
  • Strong understanding of data set design and capability

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, ideally cloud-based (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)

  • Proficient in cloud design and product contributions, ideally AWS
  • Experience overseeing and delivering code using a source control item like GitLab/GitHub
  • Experience using Docker
