Job Summary
As a Network Protection Examiner Understudy, you will play a critical role in identifying, mitigating, and recovering from digital threats. You will work closely with experts to analyze incidents, develop quick response plans, and enhance security measures. This part-time position will provide you with valuable skills in emergency management, threat assessment, and collaboration, setting you up for a successful career in network security.
Responsibilities and Expectations
The Network Protection Examiner Understudy will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with business clients to conduct needs analysis related to systems and business processes to develop high-quality technical solutions
- Ensuring solutions are aligned with internal tooling, business processes, and departmental standards
- Managing timelines for planning, coding, testing, and implementation to ensure solutions are delivered on time and within budget
- Serving as a resource to facilitate effective communication between business and IT teams
- Participating in system and acceptance testing
- Extent of work may vary depending on the project team
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
- Basic knowledge of data security and threat mitigation standards, theories, and practices
- Experience or exposure to Proofpoint PhishAlarm preferred
- Experience or knowledge of ServiceNow Administration, Risk and Compliance (GRC) preferred
- Essential knowledge of business analysis, process modeling, and improvement
- Major understanding of project management systems, including the ability to design, manage, and maintain a complex, organization-wide program
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels within the organization, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Basic knowledge of technical environment required
- Openness to Agile philosophies preferred
- Coursework or experience related to Network Security preferred
- Ability to remain organized and manage multiple and simultaneous tasks under tight deadlines
- Past investigator entry-level position experience within the past year preferred
- Experience resolving business issues in a capstone or case competition preferred
- Ability to thrive in a culture that is open, direct, conscious, gracious, and empathetic
- Fast learner, self-motivated, team-oriented, with a sense of humor
