Position: Industrial Designer – OPD (Oxford Product Design) OPD (Oxford Product Design) Harwell 31st October 2025 INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER Full Time. Based: Harwell with the opportunity for flexible home working 1-2 days a week. JOB PURPOSE To support the design and development of innovative consumer, industrial and medical products at OPD. ABOUT YOU We’re looking for an experienced Industrial Designer with a minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably gained within a consultancy environment. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Producing innovative and technically excellent designs
  • Communicating with clients clearly and confidently
  • Delivering project outputs within scope, to time and on budget
  • Collaborating effectively with colleagues
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently when required, with a proactive approach regarding project deliverables and prioritisation ROLE REQUIREMENTS
  • 3+ years of relevant Industrial Design experience
  • Degree in Industrial Design
  • A natural design eye, demonstrating variety and creativity
  • Motivation towards the application of human factors to product development
  • Excellent hand sketching and visualisation skills
  • Ability to communicate design clearly and concisely
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing techniques and consideration of their impact on design concepts
  • Strong CAD surfacing skills [Solid Works] and use of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Rhino skills would be beneficial ABOUT US At Oxford Product Design (OPD) we’re on a mission to make things better. The collaborative nature of this role means that you will be expected to be in the office at minimum three days a week, but there is the opportunity to work flexibly from home as and when this fits with project delivery requirements. After 3 years of working at OPD you can apply for an unpaid sabbatical of up to 3 months, increasing to 6 months after 6 years. You’ll be allocated ten days of training per year, with a training budget of up to 5% of your annual salary.
