Job Summary

As an Ocean Product Development Specialist at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in supporting the growth of ocean volumes and enhancing the development of our ocean product. You'll work closely with our MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and sales and operations teams to implement and communicate strategies that increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality. Key Responsibilities

* Support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of our ocean product by implementing and communicating strategies that increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality.

  • Work closely with our MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and sales and operations teams to develop and implement pricing programs, review volume targets, and develop an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement.
  • Communicate both internally and externally to outline strategy, market conditions, and work closely with the MD, Ocean, along with global trade lane team, sales and operations to communicate direction and deliverables.
  • Direct and indirect customer contact will be required, and you'll work closely with product, sales, and operations teams to ensure compliance with policies and procedures to minimize company risk exposure and enhance service quality and achieve volume targets.
  • Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded.
  • Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity; submit reports as required.
  • Work with the MD, Ocean, along with the regional ocean management team, to promote the ocean product.
  • Support sales and operations as needed.
  • Manage annual budget; control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets.
  • Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product.

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, analyzing ocean rates, and routing
  • Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office apps
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

* Experience in ocean product development and management

  • Knowledge of ocean carrier operations and logistics
  • Familiarity with ocean freight forwarding software and systems
  • Experience in developing and implementing pricing programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
