Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Customer Service Representative - Self Pay Collector to join our remote team. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for effectively communicating with patients and guarantors regarding their medical bills, while providing exceptional customer service and navigating multiple systems to ensure accurate data entry. Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative - Self Pay Collector, you will be responsible for:

  • Following established collection procedures to pursue payment of patient accounts
  • Reviewing arenaflex and client systems to accurately collect patient balances
  • Conferring with clients and guarantors respectfully and following all policies established by the client and arenaflex
  • Following all FDCPA rules and regulations during the collection process when working bad debt accounts
  • Performing collection duties to ensure prompt payment from guarantors following policies and procedures
  • Using check by phone, credit card, and payment plan options of payment correctly while on a dialer system
  • Reviewing client and arenaflex systems to verify accuracy of balance
  • Phones guarantors to collect patient balances and documents notes in the arenaflex or client system describing work completed on accounts
  • Following all policies set forth for each specific client
  • Working daily/weekly reports accurately and timely
  • Meeting productivity standards set by arenaflex for number of accounts worked per day as well as dollars collected per day
  • Conferring with management on any discrepancies within accounts and updating system with new demographic and other pertinent data when applicable
  • Determining whether accounts are eligible for insurance, preparing insurance update form for management, and documenting system appropriately
  • Interacting courteously and compassionately with other associates
  • Communicating with patients, visitors, and clients in a friendly and professional manner
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and projecting a positive image in the community

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Windows, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent analytical, clerical, and computer skills to review arenaflex and client software systems and computerized reports to determine balances
  • The ability to type at least 40wpm
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to collect balances from guarantors
  • Ability to meet productivity standards implemented by arenaflex
  • Computer skills equivalent to working multiple systems simultaneously
  • Knowledge of FDCPA and HIPAA rules and regulations and the ability to apply these regulations daily
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus

Work Environment

As a remote Customer Service Representative - Self Pay Collector, you will work in a normal sedentary office environment, with high-speed internet access required. You will be responsible for maintaining a professional appearance and projecting a positive image in the community.
