This is a 9-month Temporary Full Time opportunity working Hybrid in Los Angeles (CA), Redwood City (CA), Kirkland (WA), Austin (TX), Orlando (FL), Vancouver (BC) or Edmonton (AB) We are recruiting for an Environment Artist to join our growing team. As an Environment Artist on the project, you will be responsible for creating new assets, building out levels, and collaborating with the rest of the team to maintain a high quality presentation. This will require an understanding for modeling, texturing, and in Unreal Engine workflows. The Star Wars galaxy offers a wide range of unique planets and locations to build, and we want you to be a part of it! Responsibilities:

  • Bring life and excitement to the game through your design and implementation of high quality, believable 3D environments and assets.
  • Create highly detailed and realistic textures/materials.
  • Work closely with designers and art leads to ensure that environments and assets match the quality bar and vision for the game.
  • Ensure that art assets are performant and fit within their memory budgets. Fix bugs as needed.
  • Follow a schedule and deliver assets on time.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years professional experience as an Environment Artist for games or similar roles.
  • Fluent in Maya, Blender (or equivalent 3D software), Substance, ZBrush, and Photoshop.
  • Understanding of scale, proportion, and surface properties.
  • Understanding of game engine tools and pipelines such as UE5, Maya, and other proprietary tools.
  • Ability to take direction to polish gameplay moments to a AAA quality.

Pay Transparency - North America COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). PAY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$91,100 - $126,900 CAD
  • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. San Francisco) *$101,700 - $151,900 USD
  • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane) *$96,400 - $126,400 USD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to temporary full-time employees scheduled to work full time. In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
