Real Assets Associate

Cerity Partners is seeking a full-time Associate to join the Real Assets team within their OCIO group. The Associate will play a critical role in managing and investing client portfolios with a primary focus on the Real Assets component, providing exposure to both private and public markets.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively assist senior staff with the investment function – sourcing primary and secondary fund opportunities, direct co-investments, executing due diligence processes on new investments, developing and maintaining models and spreadsheets, and assisting with general portfolio management responsibilities
  • Assist in managing existing investments and generating analysis on client portfolios
  • Conduct specialized research on industry trends and specific investment strategies
  • Create/update models to help track various internal data including – investment pipelines, client returns, client cash flows, and risk information
  • Attend annual meetings and conferences and develop a network of outside investment professionals to help the Cerity Partners team with due diligence and industry intelligence
  • Support business development activities of the Firm
  • Assume ownership of various ad-hoc projects

Skills

  • Undergraduate or Graduate business degree with a strong academic track record
  • 1-3 years of work experience in financial services; asset management experience a plus
  • Understanding of capital markets, investment theory and practice, and the investment management industry
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Positive outlook, attention to detail, and strong work ethic
  • Comfortable with global business travel
  • CFA designation, or progress towards CFA credentials, is strongly preferred
