Role Objective

Completes administrative processes related to Logistics functions to achieve a balance of customer service, cost control and data entry accuracy.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Detailed knowledge of all Logistics operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Engages in problem solving and troubleshooting activities to improve team efficiency and accuracy.
  • Generates reports with updated data tracking spreadsheets for department traceability.
  • Load planning coordination for cost reductions and efficiencies.
  • Ability to use carrier websites for tracking, tracing, and freight quoting.
  • Perform root cause analysis of any identified issues or customer concerns.
  • Attend required training and certifications as needed for regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Performs yard management tasks to ensure adequate equipment is available for the warehouse teams.
  • Coordinates the load planning for day-to-day operations for US and Canada warehouses for on time shipping.
  • Work closely with our TMS partner to ensure alignment and accuracy for order management and optimization.
  • Coordinate and audit inbound and outbound freight bills across all transportation modes
  • Multi-task and prioritizes department workflow.
  • Ability to learn Salesforce system and dashboard creation
  • Knowledge of carrier website usage for tracking, tracing, and freight quoting.
  • Leads small projects to ensure completion according to timeline.
  • Manage personal metrics and scorecards.
  • Training others as needed.
  • Backup to other Logistics functions.

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in business related discipline preferred, or
  • 1-2 years’ experience in transportation/shipping coordination for domestic and global transactions.
  • DOT certification preferred.

Supervision/Coordination

  • Moderate supervision received, must be able to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Reports to Logistics Execution Manager

Role Type

Mostly Virtual - Less than 10% on-site work

Travel Requirements

Travel between campus locations in Northeast Ohio as needed

FLSA Status

Non-Exempt

Within this range, an offer will depend on factors such as level of experience and technical competencies relevant to this specific role, as well as internal equity considerations.
