Account Manager – Paper & Packaging Chemicals (France) Location: Home Office (France – Rouen area) Business:Paper Industry - Packaging & Industrial Chemicals Languages:French (native), English (fluent) Travel: ~60–80% (mainly regional) About the RoleAs an Account Manager, you will take full ownership of a portfolio of customers in the paper and packaging industry. Your mission is to retain, grow, and develop long-term partnerships by delivering value-based chemical solutions that improve customer performance and profitability. This role combines commercial accountability, technical value selling, and project-driven growth in a highly customer-facing environment.What You Will Do- Own and grow assigned accounts with responsibility for sales, margin, and profitability
- Build trusted relationships across operations, technical teams, procurement, and management
- Identify and develop continuous improvement projects with measurable customer value
- Lead and evaluate mill trials and application projects, from planning to results
- Expand business through new opportunities, upselling, and cross-selling
- Act as the primary Buckman contact for your customers
- Collaborate closely with technical, business development, and regional teams
- Ensure safe, compliant, and professional operations at all customer sites
- Consistent growth in sales and gross profit
- High customer retention and satisfaction
- Strong project conversion rate and value creation
- Excellent safety performance and compliance
- Visible contribution to regional market development
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper, Biology)
- 5+ years’ experience in technical B2B sales (paper, packaging, water treatment, or industrial chemicals)
- Strong commercial mindset with technical credibility
- Ability to manage projects, priorities, and customer expectations independently
- Confident communicator who builds trust and long-term relationships
- Work with leading customers in an essential industry
