THE ROLE

Pangaea is hiring a strategic and hands-on Director of Logistics & Fulfillment! This person will oversee the end-to-end logistics and global 3PL operations including bulk ocean and air freight movements from our suppliers in Asia, transfer freight between warehouses, and overall fulfillment operations across all sales channels - all for our two award-winning brands. As a member of the Operations Leadership team, you will have the opportunity to manage, guide and mentor two direct reports and will partner closely with Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain Planning and the Finance team. The ultimate responsibility of this role is to ensure on-time and cost effective delivery across our end-to-end supply chain.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategically plan and manage global freight transportation programs through vendors and 3rd party transportation service providers and optimize carrier and mode selection to effectively manage spend, quality, and service
  • Analyze and optimize quotes, manage, and audit contractual agreement with providers for performance improvement opportunities and cost efficiencies (Cost per TEU, On Time Delivery %, etc.)
  • Communicate with distribution centers to ensure accurate receipt of inventory as described on purchase orders and packing lists and maintain accurate inventory records at all times
  • Maintain accurate information and reports for all inbound and outbound freight shipments across multiple systems
  • Manage Fulfillment Operations across our global network of 3PL’s in the US, AU, NL, UK, and AE to support all sales channels which include Retail, Distribution, Amazon FBA and the DTC websites
  • Negotiate and maintain high service levels and cost efficiency with our 3PL partners
  • Manage a team of two operators to support internal and external stakeholders
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure accuracy of Netsuite transactions and inventory

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 to 7+ years of progressive operations experience, specifically in warehouse/3PL and global logistics environments
  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and Netsuite (or equivalent ERP)
  • Experience managing and compiling budgets
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
  • Technical analytical skills such as SQL, Python a plus!

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The reasonably estimated annual base salary for this role ranges from $120,000.00 to $145,000.00 and will include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and location. Details of participation in benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

  • Health insurance: Pangaea offers medical, dental, and vision insurance plans. Out of three amazing medical plans, we cover 100% for the first plan for employees and 90% of the monthly premium for two higher coverage plans. We also provide 75% of the monthly premium for family coverage.
  • 401(k) matching: After a 3-month waiting period, Pangaea will match up to 4% of the employee's elected contribution to their retirement plan.
  • Time off: Pangaea recognizes 14 paid holidays per year. We also have 6 additional “Pangaea Fridays” throughout the year where employees can get a head start on their weekend and take the whole day off. Lastly, we have a flexible time off policy and trust our employees to take vacation when they need it!
  • Staff discount: All staff members are given $100 of credit per month to use on Pangaea products so that they can try, own (and love!) all the products we sell.
