State Online Education Program Educational Specialist - Remote Opportunity

Join a dynamic team as a State Online Education Program Educational Specialist and make a difference in the lives of Utah students! We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to work remotely with the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) to support the Statewide Online Education Program (SOEP). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing training, technical assistance, and support to ensure the success of online education programs for secondary students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide SOEP training to stakeholders, including authorized/certified online providers, USBE staff, and external staff
• Develop informational materials and provide technical assistance on agency issues, services, and programs
• Support other SOEP Educational Specialists with federal, legislative, and Board policy creation, implementation, and monitoring
• Analyze, summarize, and review data findings to inform recommendations and decisions
• Monitor and oversee provider operations, including teacher licensing and program alignment
• Create and maintain SOEP procedures and guidance documents

Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a candidate with:

• A Master's degree or higher
• A Utah educator's license
• Experience as a high school guidance counselor
• Experience working with state/federal statute and policy, including knowledge of IDEA and Section 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
• Experience teaching online within the last 12-14 months
• Experience developing and facilitating online learning opportunities
• Knowledge of principles and methods of curriculum and training design, teaching, and instruction for individuals and groups

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least three years of experience working with developing and facilitating online learning opportunities
• Experience in educational coaching and mentoring
• Experience working with candidates for the Special Education Eligibility Evaluation endorsement
• Experience developing micro-credentials
• An Educational Supervision/Administration license area of concentration
