We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analytics Specialist to join our Executive Compensation team at American Airlines. As a remote worker, you'll have the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home in California, while being part of a dynamic and inclusive team that's passionate about delivering exceptional results.

Job Summary:

In this exciting role, you'll be responsible for providing programming and analytical expertise to build and enhance solutions supporting Executive Compensation programs. You'll lead data analysis and award calculation tasks, drive best practices in a technology-first approach, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to acquire and transform data for analysis and calculation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conceive and develop solutions to calculate incentive financial awards
  • Build analytical models to support compensation analyses and drive insights
  • Work with large datasets of salary and HR data to develop logic for identifying award eligibility
  • Collaborate with HR Technology, Payroll, IT, and local teams to acquire data and transform it for analysis and calculation
  • Build data visualizations to support analytical tasks
  • Identify new ways to leverage and implement technology to improve processes

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in an analytical business field, such as business, mathematics, economics, or data visualization
  • 5+ years of experience with data extraction, manipulation, and analysis from relational databases
  • 5+ years of experience using SQL and one or more scripting languages
  • Experience with data visualization software (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications

Preferred Qualifications:

We're looking for candidates with:

  • Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Data Visualization, Applied Data Science, or a related field
  • Experience programming in TSQL and Python
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server/Azure SQL, code editors (Visual Studio Code, Azure Data Studio), Alteryx Designer, and HR or payroll data
  • Project management experience and continuous improvement experience
