Seasonal Customer Support Tax Expert (Remote)

Join our team at Baker Tilly US, LLP, a leading advisory CPA firm, as a Seasonal Customer Support Tax Expert. This remote opportunity is available from January 2024 to April 2024 and offers a unique chance to leverage your tax preparation experience and provide exceptional customer support.

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to provide tax support and advice to our clients via video, phone, and chat. As a Customer Support Tax Expert, you will utilize your expertise in tax preparation, technology troubleshooting, and resolving tax issues to ensure an excellent customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized troubleshooting, tax advice, and preparation assistance to clients through video-enabled software and chat support
• Deliver accurate tax advice in easy-to-understand terms, utilizing recommended research materials and team support
• Assist clients in gathering, organizing, and entering data through our designated software platform for federal and state tax returns
• Analyze and research tax matters to determine an appropriate course of action for clients

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of tax preparation experience, with a minimum of 30 tax returns prepared each year
• Prior tax preparation experience in a tax practice or retail setting
• College degree a plus, but not required
• Knowledge of tax laws, tax concepts, and familiarity with Form 1040 and all schedules
• PTIN required (can be obtained online)
• Strong problem-solving and research skills, with the ability to quickly use online resources to find answers
• Well-developed technical troubleshooting skills
